Safety procedures and guidelines

In accordance with the CDC guidelines, we will be implementing a 6-foot distance between all participants. Seating during services is limited, therefore, registration is required so that we can monitor how many people will be able to attend.

Anyone who is not yet comfortable attending, should please remain at home and connect with G‑d there. The following safety measures are meant only as a guide for proper safety measures to be enforced for those who wish to participate in-person as a community.

Please note: Our Safety Protocols for the High Holidays will continue to be reviewed and updated based on new information available from local health officials and our team of medical and rabbinic experts.

 

Procedures we will be enacting during services:

  1. Attendees should only enter if they successfully answer the screening questions and use hand sanitizer, which will be provided.
  2. Face coverings must be worn at all times. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided to you at the entrance to the synagogue tent.
  3. A distance of at least 6 feet must be strictly maintained at all times. Chairs will be arranged to maintain those guidelines.
  4. Attendees are encouraged to wear their own Yarmulka (kippa) & Talis.
  5. A Machzor will be supplied for you at your chair. The Machzors will be replaced and sanitized between services.
  6. A disinfectant wipe packet will be available for attendees to sanitize their seats.
  7. Attendees will be asked to sanitize all hard surfaces in the restrooms before and after each use with materials provided in the bathrooms.
  8. To ensure social distancing, kiddush buffet will not be taking place during this time. There will be a prepackaged Rosh Hashanah kiddush snack.
  9. Individuals are asked not to attend if they feel even slightly unwell (coughing or sniffling) or if you have been exposed to someone who is a possible COVID-19 carrier. Likewise, if anyone has any underlying health issues that put them at greater risk (like obesity, heart disease, liver disease, diabetes, immunocompromised, respiratory issues, etc.), please stay home.
  10. When one is called up to the Torah, please come forward, but stand six feet away from the Torah reader, make a blessing in front of the Torah without touching it, and stand for the duration of the Aliyah and then make the final blessing. Afterwards, stand to the side for the next Ailyah. Finally return to your seat. Please bring your own Machzor from your seat to say the blessing.
  11. All participants will need to register before the holidays. Space is limited.  You will need to receive an email confirmation from the Chabad Jewish Center prior to participating.

 

***Please understand that since the Mitzvah of safeguarding our health and each others' health must come first, we will have to enforce these rules. We ask that you wait until the guidelines are relaxed if you might find them difficult to adhere to. Likewise, anyone who is at higher-risk is advised to stay home or speak with your doctor before attending.
