Rabbi's Message

In the Chanukah story, the odds we stacked against the Jewish Maccabees. And, they were forced into a situation they never dreamed of.

Yet, they prevailed.

Of course, they were valiant and determined. They were courageous and principled.

But, above all, they were ready to step into the role that G‑d put in front of them. They realized that succeeding at the mission for which one is called upon is more important than succeeding at my imagined goals. And, that doing so is better for the world. And, eventually, better for me as well.

As Chanukah approaches, let us listen to the story of the flames. This year, more than others, we are gifted the opportunity to stop and think about the message of Chanukah. To appreciate that each additional candle increases the light.

This Chanukah is different. But at Chabad we are making sure you can still celebrate.

And check out the rest of our Chanukah website for inspiration and information.  Reading and sharing is great, but the most important thing do is to light the menorah. Click here for a full guide with all of the information you need to fulfill this mitzvah.

Best wishes for a Happy and Healthy Chanukah!
